    MRI Applications for Veterinary Medicine

    Dr. Rodney S. Bagley

    PetsDx Veterinary Imaging is excited to offer you and your staff the opportunity to gather with your colleagues to learn more about Magnetic Resonance Imaging in veterinary medicine. Join us for a dinner and presentation by veterinary MRI expert Dr. Rodney S. Bagley, renowned for his knowledge of companion pets and the technology that will change the way veterinary medicine is practiced.

    Dr. Bagley graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He completed a small animal internship and Internal Medicine residency at Cornell University, and completed his residency in Neurology and Neurosurgery at North Carolina State University. Dr. Bagley is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in both Neurology and Internal Medicine. He is the author of over 175 scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters related to neurology, neurosurgery, and internal medicine including editing an edition of Veterinary Clinics of North America on Intracranial Disease. His book entitled "Fundamentals of Veterinary Clinical Neurology" is due out July 31, 2005.

    Dr. Bagley has presented over 250 scientific presentations including national meetings such as the ACVIM and ACVS forums, and at Western States Veterinary Conference. He has spoken internationally in England, France, Brazil, Japan, Chile, and Australia on topics pertinent to neurology and neurosurgery. He is also recognized as an expert in magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in spontaneous clinical neurologic disease.

    Dr. Bagley is currently a Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He is also the Director of Continuing Education for the College of Veterinary Medicine. His current research efforts included assessment of bone cement implants for cervical arthrodesis with Dr. Boel Fransson, and elucidation of the role of P-glycoprotein in canine brain disorders with Dr. Katrina Mealey.

    Dr. Patrick Gavin, DVM, DACVR

    PetsDx is dedicated to advancing veterinary medicine by bringing the gold standard of soft tissue diagnostics in human medicine to the veterinary community. The company sponsored a dinner and presentation by veterinary MRI expert Dr. Patrick Gavin, renowned for his knowledge of companion animals and the technology that will change the way veterinary medicine is practiced.

    Widely regarded as one of the country's leading experts in veterinary radiology, Dr. Patrick Gavin has focused on imaging technologies throughout his career. After graduating from Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gavin earned his doctorate in Radiology and Radiation Biology at Colorado State University. He has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology since 1981, and is a Charter Diplomate of the ACVR's Affiliate in Radiation Oncology.

    Currently, a professor of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Washington State University, Dr. Gavin has published more than twenty-five articles over the past 5 years. He is a member of numerous professional societies including the Radiation Research Society, the American College of Veterinary Radiology, and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
